General The Hindi Transcription Test assesses applicants' transcription skills and language proficiency through Transcription Assessment (Question 1 to 10) and Skills Assessment (Question 11 to 18). Transcription Assessment Guidelines A transcription MUST end with a period (।) or question mark (?). NB: Only items that are required for correct spelling are acceptable: -- Hyphen: hyphen between the repeated or opposite meaning words, (e.g., अभी-अभी, जाते-जाते, दिन-रात, अंदर-बाहर) are acceptable. -- Nuqtas: certain spellings in Hindi would require using 'nuqtas' and they should be transcribed with the correct spellings and not substituted with their non-nuqta forms. A transcription might include more than two sentences, in these instances, sentences are separated by a space only. Transcribe any grammatical errors as you hear them. Transcriptions MUST contain grammatically correct punctuation items and symbols (e.g., commas, colons, etc.). Assign a speaker role based on the individuals involved in the audio, considering their respective roles and the relationship dynamics between them. Any sensitive personal information (e.g., full names, social security numbers, dates of birth, addresses) must not be included in the transcription. DO NOT use those tags if the information relates to a public figure or business, or if the context of the audio to be transcribed implies that the speaker's personal information is not private. A timestamp should appear at the start of each segment (this means that overlapping segments also need timestamps).
