Summary

In each task, you will see a pair of images side-by-side, and you will judge which image looks more realistic. Sometimes both images will look similarly realistic, in which case you can pick a third option, "Not sure".

Making decisions

In general, the purpose of this task is to get your subjective opinion on which image looks more realistic. If one image intuitively feels much more realistic to you, select it -- even if you can't explain exactly why it looks more realistic. If you aren't sure, here are some guidelines for making your decision.

In some cases, one image might look like a real photograph, while the other will look jumbled or distorted in some way. In these cases, choose the image that looks like a real photograph.

In some cases, both images will look unrealistic, but one image will contain more recognizable objects than the other. For example, in the below pair are two distorted images of baseball games. The image on the left displays a more coherent scene (multiple players in uniforms, a mound of dirt, and a grassy field), whereas the image on the right has fewer coherent objects / shapes. Thus, we would recommend choosing the image on the left in this case.
