Summary
For each image draw a bounding box around each item in the taxomony. In the taxonomy section there are photos of each item. Refer to these photos to accuratly classify each item. Only draw a box around items that our in the taxonomy.
- Each box shoud be as small as possible
- Don't include any of the background in the boxes
- The lines of the of the boxes should touch the edges of the objects.
- Zoom In on the object to ensure the bounding box is correct.
- If the object is in a hand, DO NOT include any of the hand in the box
- It's ok to draw the boxes up to the edge of the frames
- There should only be boxes drawn around images in our taxonomy
- Draw bounding boxes for each item image. If an item is visable in the image it must be annotated.
- Sometimes there will be multiple object in the refridgerator, label all of them.
- If an object is occluded so much that you cannot tell what it is, do not label it.
Choosing Labels
It is ***very important*** to familiarize your self with with taxonomy to correctly label each item.
Look at the task metadata to see what labels should be used for the task. The metadata contains a list of items we expect to be in the image.
If you are usurse of what an item looks like look at the metadata to see what is expected them look at example photos of what that items looks like (below).
Here is a metadata example
{'item_label_name': ['Lemon']}
For that task you should label the 'Lemon' when thet are visable in a frame.
If you are unsure what these items look like look at the images in the taxonomy below.
If there is nothing in the frame to label, do not label anything.
Refer to the metadata and the taxonomy photos to ensure that you are labeing it correctly.
Lemon
This example demonstates good and bad bounding box sizes. Each edge of the bounding box should touch the corresponding edge of the object. Zoom in on the object before labeling when necessary.
Correct
Incorrect
This bounding box is too large. the left edge of the box does not line up with the left edge of the lemon.
This example demonstates good and bad bounding box sizes. Zoom in on the object before labeling when necessary.
Correct
This example draw a tight box around the visible part of the lemon.
Incorrect
This example is includes area where that lemon cannot be seen
When the item is occluded include all visable parts of the the lemon
Correct
This example include all the visable part of the lemon, even though it is partially occluded
Incorrect
This example does not include all visible parts of the lemon
